What happens when this page loads?
This page is one of a set of self-contained pages served as static files from a content delivery network. Each page carries its own text and locally embedded fonts, so nothing needs to be fetched from another host while the page is being displayed. The content delivery network processes the technical details of every request as the hosting provider, which is a normal part of serving files on the web rather than a separate collection step tied to this site.
What does the visit beacon do?
When a visitor arrives from a search engine, a first-party visit beacon records a small amount of information: the page path, the type of event, the name of the referring search engine and the text of an outbound button if one is clicked. This happens only for arrivals from a search engine, and the information is used only to count page views and clicks on outbound buttons. No other use is made of it.
Why does a session flag exist?
A single flag is kept in the browser for the current session so that one page view is counted only once during that session. This flag exists purely to prevent duplicate counting while the session is active. It is tied to the counting mechanism described above and serves no other purpose.
What happens when an outbound link is followed?
Outbound links on this site point first to a path on this domain, which then redirects to the third-party site. This first-party outbound redirect exists so the click can be counted before the visitor leaves. Once the redirect completes, the destination site receives the request directly from the visitor's browser and keeps its own separate record of that visit, independent of anything recorded here.
What is missing from this site by design?
There are no forms on this site, so no visitor is asked to type in personal details. There is no third-party analytics service reading traffic here, and no external subresources are loaded from other domains while a page is shown. There are also no contact channels built into the site. Together with the absence of any login or account system, this is why the site does not ask for consent, does not ask for an account, and does not ask for any personal detail before showing its pages.
What can a reader take from this?
A reader browsing this site is only being counted in the limited way described above, and only when arriving from a search engine. Anything that happens after following an outbound link is governed by whatever the destination site does on its own, separately from this page. Readers should treat this page as information about this site only, and should not submit personal data through any channel that this page does not itself describe.
